Truck Muffler & Exhaust Repair
EGR & DPF Solutions

Your EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) designed for emission reductions in both petrol and Diesel engines works by recirculating your vehicles exhaust gases back into the engine therefore forcing carbon to re enter and cause the build up. This is detrimental to the engine as it causes mass carbon build up on engine parts increasing more ware and tare. It also displaces combustible gasses with exhaust gasses so during combustion fuel isn’t burned as efficiently.

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. They usually remove between 30% to 85% of the soot. Some filters are single-use, intended for disposal and replacement once full of accumulated ash. Others are designed to burn off the accumulated particulate either passively through the use of a catalyst or by active means such as a fuel burner which heats the filter to soot combustion temperatures.

Cleaning is also required as part of periodic maintenance, and it must be done carefully to avoid damaging the filter. Failure of fuel injectors or turbochargers resulting in contamination of the filter with raw diesel or engine oil can also necessitate cleaning.

To identify the exact nature of these issues we use the latest diagnostic technology, and when a fault occurs an error code is generated and analysed. Clogged EGR valves can sometimes be cleaned but sometimes a replacement is required if the valve is faulty. Our EGR and DPF delete service is designed to halt the functionality of the EGR valve, and therefore remove the running issues associated with these devices. It is very important that EGR valves and DPFs are disabled correctly to prevent any issues. Our highly-qualified team work alongside UTD and have years of experience removing EGR and DPF software. Removing the EGR system by blanking off the exhaust input and reprogramming the ECU will result in;

Lowered engine temperatures, Restored engine power, Improved throttle response, Reduced fuel consumption, EGR fault prevention. It can also lengthen the life of your engine by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits and prevent costly repairs.
